Progress Report     // Edit

Well the corn has sprouted, the peas have appeared, and things are coming back to life in the Fighting Ninth!
I received a response to my complaint to the Board of Ethical Standards about Mainetti, Mainetti, and O’Connor the so-called lawyers who used the $750 they ripped me off for, to finance this year’s Independence Day celebration in Kingstom.  Talk about a day late and a dollar short!!!
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make good on my promise to inform all of you (and the entire Northeast)about the results of the investigation, because (it figures) the results of these investigations are sealed and confidential.  However, the investigation is underway, and the Board does have the authority to discipline attorneys who are found to have acted unprofessionally.   It seemed to me that answering the phone “Who the f@(& is this,” is about as unprofessional as you can get.   And failing to secure the evidence was not a smooth professional move either.
I was not surprised that two of the community gardens started in schools were vandalized, apparently by teenagers.   There were two 9th Ward meetings tonight, one to discuss the vandalism issue, and the other to meet one of the multitude of candidates running against our esteemed alderman, Mike Madsen.
This one was a Democrat, running against Madsen in a primary and collecting names on a nominating petition.  His name is Hayes Clement, he has his home in the historic Chestnut Hill area, and he’s been in town four years.   Yeah, a male version of Rebecca Martin.   He was shocked to discover that we had a juvenile delinquency problem here in District 1.
Well, you know what they say, a new broom sweeps clean, but the old broom knows where the dirt is hiding.   I think he may be underestimating the problem.   We were talking about improving the perception of Kingston for businesses in “the private sector” and I almost asked what he was going to do to improve the perception that Kingston is politically corrupt, that it is infiltrated on every level with unsavory connections, and that it has been surrendered to mobs, gangs, drug dealers, and domestic terrorists.
However, my mouth was full of a really good cake with orange buttercream frosting.  We all have our addictions, shut up and swallow.   ANYONE but Madsen–that was my slogan 6 yers ago and it still hasn’t changed.
